Drink protein: Should you drink protein?

Drink protein; why should it? Find out if you need to spend money on different protein supplements or buy natural protein products. In everyday life, people almost do not think about food supplements, and the maximum they can consume is vitamin complexes. However, after starting to visit the hall, the situation changes dramatically. First of all, this is due to a lot of stress, and a person is forced to start taking care of his body and body condition.

Conventional food products are no longer sufficient to provide the body with all the nutrients. There are a lot of articles on the Internet about the benefits of sports nutrition, so novice builders go to the online stores’ pages and start researching issues related to nutritional supplements. Often thoughts appear at this moment, is it worth drinking protein, or can you still do without it? It is what we are going to tackle now.

What is protein?

For the majority of people who are far from sports, the opinion persists that all forms of sports nutrition are substances. Perhaps this is precisely the main misunderstanding. Protein supplements are entirely natural products and contain no “chemistry.”

The protein compounds that makeup protein shakes are no different from those you consume with milk or eggs. However, it should recognize that dietary supplements are more beneficial than food in terms of providing nutrients to the body. Not to be unreasonable, let’s take meat as an example.

When this product is used, only about a third of all its protein compounds are absorbed. Along with proteins, fats and carbohydrates enter the body, which may not need at the moment. The body has to spend a lot of energy processing food. At the same time, it is also impossible to stop traditional food. Sports nutrition can only be a valuable addition to the diet but not a perfect substitute for the same meat.

Two types of protein are used in sports nutrition: slow and fast. This division depends on the rate of assimilation of substances. Since the processing of fast protein compounds, the body needs only a few tens of minutes or a little more. But slow protein is absorbed for several hours, which provides the body with amines during this time.

You should also know that whey is in the group of fast proteins, and everything else belongs to slow proteins. We are already getting to the answer: Is it worth drinking protein?

Let’s start with the fact that the daily protein intake for an athlete is much higher, namely 2 or 2.5 times, compared to an average person. For example, with a weight of 100 kilograms, a bodybuilder needs to consume 200-250 grams of protein every day. Imagine how much food you have to eat for this. But food does not only contain protein compounds, so fat with carbohydrates will enter the body. As a result, the mass will be recruited, but it will not be muscular but fat.

So to answer the question is it worth drinking protein – yes! But must do this in these cases:

  • Eliminating the deficiency of protein compounds in the body.
  • To improve the effectiveness of the training.
  • For a set of quality pulp.
  • To enhance the quality of muscles and fat burning.
  • To suppress metabolic reactions.

As you can see, all these reasons apply not only to athletes but also to ordinary people.

Now, however, I would like to say a few words about what will happen when a protein deficiency occurs in the body:

  • The quality of the skin will decrease.
  • The body will begin to destroy tissues and organs.
  • Kidney disease may develop, and endocrine disruption may occur.
  • Hair loss is possible.

Positive and negative effects of drink protein supplementation

The answer to the question in today’s article – is whether it is worth drinking protein; it cannot be complete if we do not consider all the pros and cons of protein supplements.

Let’s start with the pros; here they are:

  • The amount of quality pulp is accelerated.
  • They have a high absorption rate.
  • Does not inhibit the digestive system.
  • There is almost no fat and no carbohydrates.
  • Helps slow down decomposition.

At the same time, protein supplements have some negative aspects:

  • People with lactose intolerance can have problems with certain types of protein.
  • Large doses put a lot of stress on the kidneys and liver.
  • Due to the presence of estrogen in soy protein, men should be careful with these protein compounds.
  • Some additives can taste nasty.

Finally, I would like to say that most of the protein compounds must come into the body from food. But to improve the results of training, it is almost impossible to do without a protein supplement.
